Making charge
The labour and workmanship fee added to the metal value of jewellery.
The making charge covers the labour, design and workmanship of a piece of jewellery, added to the value of the metal itself. It may be quoted as a percentage of the metal value or as a flat amount. Making charges are a normal part of pricing but should always be itemised.
